This was Pouya’s first large scale piano work and was inspired y world events in the early 2000s with the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. He has used many different composition techniques such as modes and thematic (melodic) transformation, in this piece. It was influenced by sontatas of Prokofiev, Liszt, and Beethoven.
